Xfest and the Colt's Home opener

Wow - what a hard rockin', ears still buzzing Indy weekend. Saturday at the Verizon wireless music center was X-Fest 2006. We got there around 2:30 which was just in time to hear Alien Ant Farm close their set with "Smooth Criminal". They rocked it and sounded great. The sun was out, the beer was cold (albeit a touch expensive at $7 for 16oz) and the crowd was rowdy. We pushed our way toward the stage and waited for Bullet for My Valentine. The crowd was going nutz - throwing shoes, clothes, cups and really anything into the air. Then this guy taps me on the shoulder and say's " I am going up man" - you got it chief, so Craig and I hoist this guy in the air and send off crowd surfin.. well that turned into a line of people we were lauching - that crap is workout!. Shane and I bailed during Bullet's set to refill our empty cups and made it back to catch a little of Buckcherry. The lead singer of whom is a slim fella who kept getting lost behind is mic stand.
The main stage that night saw Shinedown, Rob Zombie, and Godsmack kick so much ass it hurt to sit the next day. By far though Godsmack stole the show with an unbelievable performance. They had the complete experience - pyro, video, jam session, classic rock from AC/DC and Sabbath, bongos, fireworks, confetti - damn good. Check out the gallery of the show - if you look close that is me out in the lawn lol

Sunday brought more Indy goodness as we headed up to the RCA dome for the Colt's home opener. We had great seats, Craig is season ticket holder, in the upper level just off to the side of the endzone. From the opening kick, the Colt's had it in high gear and the dome was LOUD causing the Texans to give up 14 points in the first couple of drives. Indy rolls to the easy victory and I head home exhausted and trying to get psyched for Monday.

Thanks a million to Craig for allowing me to be a part of these 2 events - I owe you big time, thanks buddy.
