life should have a soundtrack
Some songs are just destined to be great, some songs hide from you concealing their title and artist waiting for that opportunity when you are ready to listen. Johnny Cash for instance. Never considered myself a fan, oh sure I like my share of country but not Johnny. Then there I was standing in the store debating whether to buy his new cd or save the $10. I bought the cd (cause I have spent $10 on dumber things) I put on my iPod and the cd has seen near constant rotation in my car player. The songs spoke to me, I identified with some the hard times he was singing about. It was one of the better cd buys I have made.
Today, I had a similar experience and btw I admit; my music tastes cannot be defined, if it is good (in my opinion) sold. Anyway, today watching a goodbye video from a local news anchor I hear a song that is familiar and cuts to my soul. Thank goodness Amy stopped down and helped to dig up the artist who sadly passed away in 1997. I bet you have heard the song before, it is to me a very heartfelt rendition of "Over the Rainbow". It has been used in movies and TV, specifically it was used in the ER episode in which Dr. Green dies. Yea its that type of song, but damn it I like it.
Anyway, the artist is Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole he was a Hawaiian man with a knack for the Ukulele and an awesome voice. I would love to have his albums (any last minute Christmas shoppers) specifically Alone in Iz World.
I think I am going to start a top ten of sappy sorta gay songs that Jason likes even if you don't.
But not tonight.
The other thing that I wanted to comment on tonight, I think can wait until tomorrow. All the links are at school :) wooooo building suspense..
Laugh today,
