Ok here is today's little chuckle moment. I had received a letter from the Indiana teachers retirement fund asking me to change my address. They had not been updated since we moved, no problem. In the same envelope was a flyer promoting their online access with the ability to do what I needed to do. This was great, no mailing no hassles just boom done. So, I jump online and head to the site and I need to create an account as this is the first time I have used their service. Create the standard fare U/P and I also need a PIN. Well upon creating the the u/p and requesting a PIN I get a notification window letting me know that my PIN has been sent to the address on file. Well great, who knows if I will actually get it or not. Couldn't they have sent an email to the address given with a link to a ssl page providing me access to the site right away, so I could take care of business? apparently not.
On another note - have been using
Opera here and there lately. It is a nice alternative as well, but even less supported by some sites / pages (Blogger)than ffx. Probably the handiest feature is the integrated BT client. Not much in the way of control but nice for ease of use.
And on yet another note - I would highly recommend reading Kevin Smith's
blog. I am a fan of him and his films and to read his blog is a treat. I enjoy the logical, emotional yet as respectful as possible way he responds to the media and critics. Most of which provide extremely short-sided, unintelligent comments to his work.
